COOLING - USDA Certified Organic Tea Tree Oil Dog Shampoo with Peppermint

The first USDA Certified Organic Dog Shampoo using safe & non-toxic organic aloe juice, organic oils, and organic essential oils!

Our organic tea tree dog shampoo is a natural alternative to medicated dog shampoo with toxic chemicals.

We've combined the tea tree with peppermint as dog's with yeast or bacterial infections will benefit from its cooling and anti-inflammatory support. Peppermint will also work to balance the sebum production in your dog's coat.

Eucalyptus provides natural relief from bug bites and works to reduce the presence of bacteria, fungus (yeast) and inflammation to synergistically support the tea tree and peppermint.

Not recommended for cats. Instead please use our unscented or lemongrass blends both available in USDA organic to food grade standards or USDA organic.

Organic aloe juice, organic saponified oils (coconut, shea butter, olive, sunflower & jojoba), organic vegetable glycerin, organic peppermint essential oil, organic tea tree oil, organic eucalyptus essential oil, organic rosemary extract

Organic Aloe Vera Juice: Aloe has long been known as a natural healer - good for skin and hair/fur. Aloe is used to treat a variety of skin conditions from flaky or dry skin, to burns, minor skin infections, and more. It acts as a natural conditioner to make the hair/fur look shinier, glossier, and healthier.

Organic Coconut Oil: Extremely hydrating, a great moisturizer and helps to provide a protective layer, retaining moisture in the skin while allowing the skin to breathe. As a mild oil, it is very good for inflamed or irritated skin, and on dogs with skin sensitivities

Organic Shea Butter: Our cold pressed and unrefined organic shea butter is naturally rich in vitamins A and E as well as essential fatty acids and other vitamins and minerals that make it a natural emollient to moisturize rough and dry skin. Our shea butter is sustainably sourced (an added expense but better for our planet)!

Organic Olive Oil: Rich in vitamins, minerals, natural fatty acids, and antioxidants. Known for its ability to nourish, rejuvenate, and protect the skin.

Organic Sunflower Oil:Rich in Vitamins A, D, and E, sunflower oil acts as an emollient that holds moisture inside the skin cells and retains skin hydration. As a strong antioxidant, it helps to protect the collagen and elastin in the skin to improve the skin’s tone. The high amounts of Omega-6 (linoleic) fatty acid are anti-inflammatory to reduce skin inflammation and dermatitis.

Organic Jojoba Oil: A great cleanser and an excellent moisturizer. Jojoba also contains fatty acids that help to rejuvenate and restore dry skin.

Organic Vegetable Glycerin: Natural emollient that softens and soothes the skin. Glycerine is very mild and excellent to use on the most sensitive of skin. It is also thought to be a humectant - meaning - it can attract moisture to your dog's skin and keep it locked in!

Organic Peppermint Oil:While better known for its therapeutic properties, peppermint is a natural antibacterial and anti-fungal that helps to balance oily skin and moisturize dry and itchy skin. It also helps to reduce inflammation.

Organic Tea Tree:Aids in the reduction of infections caused by unwanted bacteria or fungus while reducing inflammation. Also an excellent pest repellent. Energetically and emotionally, helps to build confidence and strength while uplifting the spirit.

Organic Eucalyptus Essential Oil: Relief for bug bites and skin irritation. Naturally deodorizing and aids in the reduction of bacteria, fungi, and inflammation. Emotionally and energetically it helps to clear and uplift encouraging mental clarity.

Organic Rosemary Extract: A very powerful antioxidant that is used as a natural preservative with anti-inflammatory properties.

How our hand crafted shampoo is made:
We feel strongly about transparency and honesty of our ingredients and process. So, for those of you who want a little bit more information - read on!

The Organic Coconut Oil (Cocos nucifera), Organic Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii), Organic Olive Oil (Olea europaea), Organic Sunflower Oil (Helianthus annuus), and Organic Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis) is mixed with Organic Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis leaf juice) and potassium hydroxide under heat in a large kettle. The result of that reaction is Saponified oils of coconut (Potassium cocoate), shea butter (Potassium shea butterate), olive (Potassium olivate), sunflower (Potassium sunflowerate), and jojoba (Potassium jojobateand glycerine. Some of the aloe juice evaporates off and the glycerine is mixed back in while the potassium hydroxide used to saponify the oils and is no longer detectable. More organic aloe (Aloe barbadensis Leaf Juice) is added along with additional organic vegetable glycerin is added. The organic tea tree oil (Melaleuca alternifolia), organic peppermint essential oil (Mentha piperita), organic eucalyptus essential oil (Eucalyptus globulus), and organic rosemary extract (Rosmarinus officinalis) are mixed in and blended

Catch Dog. Shake bottle to blend ingredients. Wet your 4-Legger with warm water from head to the end of their tail. Apply 4-Legger to the palm of your hand and apply to your pet.

Gently massage 4-Legger deep into your pet's coat. Rinse thoroughly until water runs clear.

The consistency of our conditioning shampoo is thicker than traditional organic shampoo due to the addition of the natural conditioner - guar gum.

If you are new to organic dog shampoo, we have some tips for you:

  • Your dog will likely go through a perfectly normal transition period. Don't worry - we've documented what you can expect - click here to read!
  • To increase the lather, use more water - not shampoo.
  • Consider adding one of our foamer bottles to your order!  It will help you manage the thin consistency by infusing air into the shampoo, as well as keep you from using more than is needed to wash your dog.

Note: Keep out of your pet's eyes. To wash your pet's face - use a wash cloth.

We get a lot of questions about what isn't in 4-Legger! The simple answer is all the bad stuff you find in traditional dog shampoo! We are committed to having no synthetic chemicals in our dog shampoo so every dog can have a healthy bath!

Check out our deep dive ingredient blog or read about our commitment to you to learn more about the ingredients you'll never find in any 4-Legger product!

    Thank you Melissa!!

Yogi has suffered from excessively itchy skin and she is continuously scratching up to the point where she becomes exhausted from it. After speaking with Melissa, she highly recommended we give the cooling shampoo a try and although it didn’t completely stop her from scratching every now and then, we immediately saw the amount of scratching drop significantly after just 1 bath. It was a bit weird at first to see her actually rest for once but definitely happy to have given her some relief. We are happy with not only the product but with the customer service provided by Melissa. Thank you so much!!

    Well satisfied!

Our 4-leggier is a golden retriever and the love of our lives but he is golden and that means skin allergies. Wrigley is seven and it’s been trial and error with finding ways to help with allergy bumps on his skin from the first hello at 10 weeks old. We used (vet approved) human foot wash for years and it truly helped the best but it isn’t made anymore. This is the closet thing we’ve found (vet suggested) and in two showers with this shampoo the latest flare is almost gone! We are very happy with the results. It’s easy to apply and easy to rinse off as well.

    We love this stuff!

My itchy Vizslas and mix breed Big Dog were in need of an excellent shampoo which could be used frequently to clean their dirty doggy selves after a good roll in our pasture. I’m highly sensitive to allergens as well as to dry skin, and so are they.

This Persnickety Dog Mom requires a product which lathers efficiently, rinses out easily, and leaves a fresh, clean, natural scent. AND, which reduces that endless scratching.

BOOM. Highly recommended by a friend in Cambodia, we turned to 4-Legger to try both the cedar and the peppermint dog shampoos. While we like both, I find that the peppermint version suds up and then rinses out readily; much more so than similar products tried over 30 years of Dog Ownership and Rescue.

The dogs don’t find the scent objectionable, I find it very pleasant, itching is DEFINITELY reduced, and bathtimes are greatly speeded up because this product rinses out of borth wire and long hair coats so easily.

Terrific product, so much so that I now use it on my own hair, too!

    Cooling Dog Shampoo is remarkable

I have been using this shampoo for my 12-yr old Border Terrier for several months, and I love the fragrance and its cleaning properties. I especially like the fact that after her bath, Micki has fewer tendencies to rub her face on the carpeting as she has always done with other canine shampoos. This is a first-rate shampoo in my opinion !!
